PARKING INFORMATION

Please be considerate of our handicapped members and visitors by leaving at least 5 spaces for them near the handicapped accesses at the sidewalks. Also, please park in a way that will allow as many cars as safely possible in the upper lot. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

WHEN YOU NEED HELP IN A MEDICAL EMERGENCY

Remember that The Church of the Good Shepherd has medical equipment to loan to you or a family member. We have walkers, shower chair, potty-chair, wheel chairs, adjustable feeding table, and other items. Contact Dennis Bible if you or your loved ones are in need. If anyone has any info as to the whereabouts of our wheel chair, please contact Dennis Bible. Thank you.

DON'T FORGET

Please remember to bring in your aluminum cans for recycling. A few cans from each parishioner may yield a sizeable deposit in the building fund!
Please note: The cans should be soft drink or beer cans that have been cleaned. No pet food cans, aluminum foil or other metal is accepted by the recycling center.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

The Prayer Shawl Ministry was started in 1998 by Janet Bristow and Victoria Galo in Hartford, Connecticut. The shawl makers pray before starting a shawl and while making them, then the shawls are blessed by a priest or minister before being presented to the recipients. The recipients fall into many categories from seriously or chronically ill, elderly, handicapped, bereaved, depressed, wedding couples, new babies and mothers, disaster survivors, to those alienated from the church. The shawls comfort and embrace those wearing them as they are now wrapped in our prayers. Please let us know if we need to add anyone to our prayer shawl list. The recipients can be from anywhere as this is a worldwide ministry. If you have any questions or need to add someone to our list call Susy Lucot at 423-623-0525. Anyone interested in learning to knit or crochet should call Susy, Barbara Turner at 423-487-3838 or Claire Konz at 423-487-2173.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES

Charity Navigator, the nations largest charity evaluator, recently named Catholic Charities to its Top Ten charities for fiscal responsibility! After studying 5,300 U.S. charities, Charity Navigator also awarded Catholic Charities its highest ratings for organizational efficiency and capacity. And like its national organization, Catholic Charities of East Tennessee maintains an incredibly low administrative cost ratio of around 10 percent!

VOCATIONS

Parents, vocations are God-inspired and home-made. Might God be calling your child to serve as a sister, brother or priest? Encourage your child to be faithful to God's call, what that might be. Have you talked to your child about Church vocations, as well as married and single life?

REMEMBER OUR CHURCH LIBRARY

We have a collection of publications available to anyone in the parish for checkout. The library is now in the basement. We have all type of materials for you to select from. See Dennis Bible or Anna Hudson for more information.
